Dear Ceará Java User Group Members and Visitors,

My name is Hildeberto Mendonça. I am one of the CEJUG leaders and I will use this space to share my knowledge and my perceptions about the world with you.

I will write the content of this section in English for two basic reasons:

The CEJUG site will be accessible not for "lusophonic" people only, but for everybody around the world! It will expand our impact on the global community and provide an international cooperation between us and other important JUGs.
I really want you to read and write more and more English contents, because it is important to improve your life and make you part of the world, with real possibilities to share your knowledge with the global community.

Nowadays, I am dedicating my professional time in two different areas:

Researches: I am doing my PhD in Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, working with multimedia indexation in TELE Lab. The research consists of the development of a software platform to manage multimedia content and provide a fast mechanism to find multimedia content in large databases. The application of this research is, mainly, in TV companies, Advertising companies, which work with a high number of multimedia resources. Most part will be developed in Java, but we will have many components developed in C++ just for performance reasons and software reuse.
Software Architecture: I have a company in Brazil (the name does not matter for ethical reasons) and I provide a specialized service consulting in software architecture. Despite the distance, the service continues running with some clients.

I would like to share with you my experience on the Java Platform in both areas and discuss with you about each subject.
